Accent Oracle alternative: an honest comparison.

BoldVoice Accent Oracle is a free web accent guesser: you speak for about 30 seconds, it guesses your accent, and training continues in the BoldVoice app. If you want free accent test that runs in the browser with no download, try it right here first.

Read this aloud in your normal voice (about 30 seconds):

Last summer, my brother and I took the early train to the coast. We bought three thick sandwiches, a bottle of water and a map, and we walked along the cliffs until the weather turned. By the time the rain arrived, we were laughing in a tiny cafe, drying our socks by the heater.

01 — The short answer
In short

AccentLoop is a free accent test that runs in your browser: free accent test, pronunciation checks with per-word feedback, AI conversation and interview practice. Compared with Accent Oracle: both take about 30 seconds and are free; AccentLoop adds a US–UK scale, the sounds behind your result and free practice on the same page, with no app.

How to switch from Accent Oracle to AccentLoop

  1. Take AccentLoop’s free accent test on this page — about 30 seconds, no account.
  2. Compare the result with your Accent Oracle guess. If they differ, look at the sounds AccentLoop lists: they explain why.
  3. Open the drill for the first sound it found and do 10 pronunciation checks.
  4. Add the daily sentence to your routine — one short sentence a day keeps progress visible.
  5. If you need more than the free tier, start the 7-day Pro trial. If you also pay for BoldVoice, decide which one you keep before its next renewal.

Why people look for a Accent Oracle alternative

  • Accent Oracle tells you what you sound like; AccentLoop also shows which 2–3 sounds created that impression and lets you drill them right away.
  • You can play 14 sample voices and see the test’s real output before you record.
  • Practice after the test is free in the browser — 10 pronunciation checks a day — and the paid plan is monthly or yearly, so you are not tied to a yearly plan.

What each accent test actually gives you

Both tests ask for about 30 seconds of speech and return a guess at which accent you have. The difference is what comes after the guess.

Accent Oracle is built as a quick, shareable answer — and it is also available as an app inside ChatGPT, which is handy if you already spend time there. To work on what it heard, you move to the BoldVoice app.

AccentLoop returns up to three closest accents with percentages (for example “64% Spanish-influenced English, 21% General American”), a position on a US–UK scale, an accent-strength score and a clarity score. Most usefully, it names the 2–3 sounds that shaped the result — such as /v/ heard as /b/, or a short “i” in “ship” — and each one links to a drill you can start on the same page.

Who each tool suits

AccentLoop is a good fit if…

  • You want to know which sounds create your accent, not only which accent it is.
  • You prefer practising in a browser, for example on a work laptop.
  • You want free daily practice or a monthly plan instead of a yearly one.

AccentLoop is not the best fit if…

  • You want video lessons recorded by human accent coaches.
  • You want to stay inside ChatGPT for everything.

Accent Oracle is a good fit if…

  • You like a fast guess to share with friends.
  • You plan to follow a long, structured accent course on your phone.

When Accent Oracle is the better choice

Choose Accent Oracle if you mainly want a quick guess inside ChatGPT, or you already plan to train with BoldVoice’s coach-led app. BoldVoice’s video lessons with accent coaches are something AccentLoop does not offer.

Frequently asked questions

Is BoldVoice Accent Oracle free?

Yes, the Accent Oracle guess is free. Training after the guess happens in the BoldVoice app; its sign-up page lists a yearly plan at $149.99 after a 7-day free trial.

Which accent test is more accurate?

Neither tool has an independent accuracy study. We publish our own: on the 14 sample voices on this site, AccentLoop’s first guess matched the intended accent 13 times out of 14. Treat any result as “closest to”, not a label.

Can AccentLoop tell how strong my accent is?

Yes. Next to the closest accents it shows an accent-strength score and a clarity score, and names the sounds that shaped the result.

Is AccentLoop free?

The accent test, level test and daily sentence are free. Every day you also get 10 pronunciation checks, a 5-minute conversation and a 3-question interview. Pro is $9.99/month or $59.99/year.

Can I use AccentLoop and Accent Oracle together?

Yes. Many learners keep the tool they already like and add a second one for a different job. Nothing needs to be exported or deleted, and AccentLoop’s free tier works without an account, so you can try both side by side.

Do you keep my recording?

No. Audio is analysed and then discarded — it is never stored, and we never build a voiceprint. Text results are kept so your history and share links work, and you can delete them from the account page.

How do I cancel AccentLoop Pro?

With one click on the account page. The 7-day trial sends a reminder email before it ends, and if you cancel during the trial you are not charged.

Does AccentLoop work on iPhone and Android?

Yes, in the browser — Safari, Chrome, Edge or Firefox. There is nothing to install; you only allow the microphone when you start recording.
