Fluently alternative

Fluently alternative: an honest comparison.

Fluently is an AI English tutor app for iOS and Android that scores pronunciation, fluency, vocabulary and grammar; its Accent Guru is a free 30-second accent test on the web. If you want accent test and speaking coach that runs in the browser with no download, try it right here first.

Read this aloud in your normal voice (about 30 seconds):

Last summer, my brother and I took the early train to the coast. We bought three thick sandwiches, a bottle of water and a map, and we walked along the cliffs until the weather turned. By the time the rain arrived, we were laughing in a tiny cafe, drying our socks by the heater.

Why people look for a Fluently alternative

  • Fluently’s tutor lives in a phone app; AccentLoop runs in any browser, including a work laptop where you can’t install apps.
  • AccentLoop’s prices are public before you start; Fluently shows them inside the app.
  • AccentLoop’s accent result links straight to drills for the sounds it found.

How the speaking feedback differs

Fluently gives you scores across four areas — pronunciation, fluency, vocabulary and grammar — and builds lessons around them inside its app. That works well if you like a number to watch go up.

AccentLoop focuses on showing exactly what slipped. In the pronunciation checker every word is marked: if “think” came out as “sink”, it says so, names the sound (/θ/) and gives a one-line tip. In conversations you get a summary afterwards with what went well, more natural ways to say things and useful words.

Both include interview practice. AccentLoop’s covers 10 job roles and scores answers on the STAR structure (situation, task, action, result), with a stronger version of your answer.

Price in detail

Fluently lists several plans in the App Store, and the price you see depends on the offer shown in the app. AccentLoop has one free tier and two Pro prices, shown on the website.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a Fluently Accent Guru alternative?

AccentLoop’s accent test also takes about 30 seconds and is free with no sign-up. It shows up to three closest accents with percentages, a US–UK scale, strength and clarity, and the sounds behind the result.

Does AccentLoop need an app?

No. It works in Chrome, Safari, Edge and Firefox on phones and computers. You only allow the microphone.

How much is Fluently Premium?

On the US App Store, Fluently Premium is listed at $24.99 a month, with yearly options from $89.99 to $179.99 and weekly options from $4.99 to $19.99. Prices differ by country and offer.

Is AccentLoop free?

The accent test, level test and daily sentence are free. Every day you also get 10 pronunciation checks, a 5-minute conversation and a 3-question interview. Pro is $9.99/month or $59.99/year.

Can I use AccentLoop and Fluently together?

Yes. Many learners keep the tool they already like and add a second one for a different job. Nothing needs to be exported or deleted, and AccentLoop’s free tier works without an account, so you can try both side by side.

Do you keep my recording?

No. Audio is analysed and then discarded — it is never stored, and we never build a voiceprint. Text results are kept so your history and share links work, and you can delete them from the account page.

How do I cancel AccentLoop Pro?

With one click on the account page. The 7-day trial sends a reminder email before it ends, and if you cancel during the trial you are not charged.

Does AccentLoop work on iPhone and Android?

Yes, in the browser — Safari, Chrome, Edge or Firefox. There is nothing to install; you only allow the microphone when you start recording.
